The one and the only way to grow your remote business in my opinion is to hire a winning remote team!

What happens when you take time off? Your business stops right? If there is only you in your business doing everything how are you focusing on the important stuff like strategy, goals, and growth?  If you are a one or two-person show chances are your day consists of chatting with clients, doing the actual in-business tasks, and responding to emails, although these tasks are important they are not driving your business forward, and therefore your business will never ever grow!

In this blog, I provide 4 guaranteed steps that will ensure the growth of your remote business by replacing yourself in your business, to free your time and focus on the growth of your business.

Let's jump into the fun stuff…..

You need a team in place to do the stuff you are not good at. Now I know the general mindset before business owners start hiring is that “no one can run my business better than me” well guys this is the exact mindset that will make your business fail, make you feel completely worn out, and eventually lead you to give up.

The quote you need to have in mind is that the more you matter in your business the less your business matters. Your biggest goal in your business should be to replace yourself. This is how we reach true financial and time independence from our business.

Now I know how overwhelming it is to start the hiring process, it seems like a scary road that you just don’t want to go down, so today's video is aimed at providing 4 helpful tips to help ease these worries and exactly what to do when starting the process of replacing yourself in your business.

Step 1: List all the tasks you conduct in a day.

  • These tasks would generally l consist of responding to email, video calls, and all the day-to-day running of your business.
  • I want you to also track how long each task takes you to complete.
  • At this stage in your business, you will be wearing 500 hats and 99% of them won’t be goal driven and strategic.
  • Then I want to highlight which tasks you are great at, and which tasks make you feel alive or exhausted.
  • The tasks that make you feel alive are usually the tasks you are good at, they are your natural flow.
  • The ones that make you feel exhausted are the tasks that you are just usually bad at, therefore, I want you to start hiring people for those tasks so that every area of your business is being performed to the best of its ability.
  • A great place to start the hiring process is admin-related tasks, outsource this so that you can create free your time from those tasks to focus on your strengths and goals.

Step 2: Develop a hiring process that delivers results with every hire

  • By defining your company culture and hire people that fit into that culture for the success of your hiring process and the long-term success of your business.
  • Company culture is the backbone of a company.

Step 3: Create all the processes and procedures

  • Before your new team members join your company ensure that not only are they replacing you but they are also able to work without your constant involvement.
  • Otherwise, your job will go from day-to-day managing to constantly solving your team's problems and having to be in your business at all times because your team wont is able to do their job without your brain and knowledge.
  • The easiest way to create processes and procedures is to take the list of tasks you created in step 1 and write the exact process needed to complete that task.
  • For example as a customer joining your company, what are all the steps needed for the success of your new customer joining? Do they need a signup video call, or do they need to be sent terms or documents? I think you get the idea.
  • A great way to create super-efficient processes is also writing down mistakes that have occurred and creating a step-by-step procedure on how to avoid that mistake from happening again.
  • Processes and procedures make our business run efficiently and effectively and most importantly they ensure you as the business owner don’t have to be there every second of the day.
  • Everything in your business needs to be in a manual with step-by-step processes on how to complete every task in your business.
  • Even where the manuals are placed in your business needs to be a process.
  • We now have amazing tools such as Loom Video that we can use in our business to ensure that the procedure is understood and no miscommunication happens.
  • You can create a quick explanatory video on loom demonstrating how to complete a task and where everything is saved on your cloud for your team to access at all times.

Tip 4: Training your team

  • Once you have created your processes and hired your awesome team you then need to train them on all processes and procedures so that they understand how to complete everything and what is expected of them in their job.
  • This is just another extra step to ensure that you can step away from that role in your business completely and move one step closer to working on the growth of your business and freeing up your time.
