Why Remote Work Is Here To Stay, Some Fun Statitics

Dec 01, 2021

What employees are saying about remaining remote and how providing remote opportunities will play a vital role in the hiring process in your business.

Today's blog will discuss some critical statistics businesses should know about remaining remotely run and why it is here to stay from the employee's perspective.

We haven't posted a bog in a while because we were in production creating our first course called "Hiring Method Simplified," which is the ultimate solution to hiring and retaining remote employees in your business through a results-proven recruitment system.

Throughout this blog, I discuss the importance of remaining a remotely run business after the pandemic and some statistics from the employee's perspective. We can't run and grow a successful business if we don't have the right team; therefore, understanding how employees feel about remaining remote is vital.

Remote working provides the opportunity for you and your team to be based anywhere your heart desires because the old-school way of working in offices is something of the past, thanks to the pandemic. Remote work has been on the rise for the past few years, but in 2020, with the sudden outbreak of a global pandemic, even the companies who didn't believe in the power of telecommuting had no choice but to join the trend.

So guys, let's jump right into the statics around remote working and how they are vital for your business to provide remote working opportunities for your team:

  • 16% of companies in the world are now 100% remote; although it is still a low number, the fact that nowadays there are companies that have no office or headquarters whatsoever and operate 100% remotely shows just how much remote work has grown and evolved.

  • I believe because of the 4th industrial revolution, these statistics will only grow, and we will eventually reach a point where 75% of businesses will operate remotely, and 15% will be location-based, mostly being hotels, spas, and restaurants. But, of course, only time will tell whether that figure is correct or not.

  • Currently, 44% of companies don't allow remote work. I honestly believe these companies will fall behind because staff no longer want to work for businesses that don't allow this benefit and flexibility, which leads me to the following statistic.

  • It has been reported that a massive 97% of employees don't want to return to the office full-time. Imagine if YOUR business is one of those that believe they will go back to in-office working once the pandemic stuff has cooled down. This is why I believe businesses that don't offer fully remote opportunities will be left behind. Flexibility in work schedules and not requiring employees to spend 100% of their time in the office will be a distinguishing factor as employees evaluate job offers and choose their place of work. So don't make your business one that potential employees look past because you don't provide the flexibility they seek.

  • We can't run successful businesses without staff, which is why you are watching this video in the first place, and by not remaining remotely run or providing flexible opportunities for your team, your hiring struggles will only become more challenging.

  • 61% of employees prefer being fully remote. More than half of the employees surveyed said they prefer working in a fully remote environment. While some employees will still want access to office space, others may not need one at all, which means the very role of physical office space will need to be examined in the future of work.

  • Guys, 77% of remote workers say they're more productive when working from home. Better work-life balance is the main reason why people choose to work remotely.

  • 85% of managers believe that having teams with remote workers will become the new norm.

  • 74% of workers say that working remotely would make them less likely to leave a company.

  • It has been reported that the three biggest challenges associated with remote work are unplugging after work, which is 22%. In addition, loneliness is reported to be 19%, and communication/collaboration is reported to be 17%.

  • According to a Forbes article, remote work is the biggest draw for top talent, employees looking for new jobs or changing careers; having the option to work remotely is a top priority. The majority of professionals surveyed emphasized that remote work options were essential.

  • It is not specified whether they were looking for fully remote or partial, but one thing was clear, they'll certainly be looking elsewhere without this option. Therefore, mentioning remote work options in job postings and during interviews is critical to attracting top talent.

  • The top three benefits employees want are healthcare, professional development, and coaching, Which tells us that today's employees are looking for more than just a place to work. They're looking for an employer who values their growth and development as well as their personal wellbeing.

After reading these statistics, I think you have a great understanding of how vital remote working is. It is here to stay, so if you believe that your company will go back to being a standard office, I truly hope you are starting to reconsider that idea for long-term success in your business and the hiring process.
